The New Holy Land Tour provides visitors
of all ages with the unique opportunity to experience the people,
culture, and history of the ancient Middle East. On this 2 1/2 hour
interactive Biblical teaching tour, you will explore the ancient
Middle-Eastern culture in which Jesus was raised and meet characters
from the time of Moses to the time of Christ.
Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the educational and
inspirational experience of the Holy Land Tour on our comfortable
tram. As they tour through the New Holy Land, a guide will explain
each exhibit. At stops along the way you meet Biblical characters who
present a living history of the scriptures providing a greater
understanding.
Visitors
going on the New Holy Land tour at The Great Passion Play will
experience new and exciting additions to the wonderful venues
available on the grounds. In an effort to make the tour come
even more alive, significant enhancements can be seen at Moses’
Tabernacle in the Wilderness as well as at the Sea of Galilee.
Scripture reveals the importance of God’s instructions to the
priests as they performed their duties inside the Tabernacle. In 2
Chronicles 2:4, it says “Behold, I build an house to the name of the
Lord my God (the Tabernacle), to dedicate it to Him, and to burn
before Him sweet incense, ……..”. Then, inside the Holy of
Holies, the Shekinah glory of God (the pillar of fire) burns on the
mercy seat. Of course, none but the priests were privileged to enter,
but through the New Holy Land Tour, we are able to receive a
“visual” of what they experienced.
At
the Sea of Galilee, Simon Peter talks of the overpowering experience
of “walking with Jesus”, witnessing the miracles, time after
time, of Jesus’ providing for His sheep. Finally, to see Jesus walk
on the water and pray for the guests brings an unspeakable joy to
those in attendance.
The hope is that, with such additions, understanding of the scriptures
will be even sharper and more powerful in the hearts and lives of the
visitors.
Each of the 38 individual exhibits in the New Holy Land Tour have been
researched for historical accuracy and have been recreated as
authentically as possible. Your New Holy Land Tour includes:
- Speaking with a “Levitical
Priest” in the full-scale replica of Moses' Tabernacle in the
Wilderness.
- Visiting a replica of a first
century inn typical of the type where Mary and Joseph may have
asked for shelter.
- A first century stable typical of
where Jesus was born.
- Walking beside the "Sea of
Galilee" with Simon Peter as he speaks of his last days with
Jesus.
- Visiting the upper room where Jesus
and his disciples feasted for the Last Supper.
Please allow 2 1/2 hours for the
New Holy Land Tour. The New Holy Land Tour is open on the same days as
